Baby's first picture :)

I am now 10 1/2 weeks pregnant we had our very first ultra sound today and it was so much fun! My mom came along with Ryan & I to join in on this special moment. When we got to the old hospital, I had to fill out a bunch of paper work, then we had to wait (very impatiently! haha) for a bit until a room was available. When we finally got in there, the tech had me lay on the bed/chair, unbutton my pants & fold them down & stick a towel in the top of them so that I wouldn't get any 'goop' on them. Then she put a HUUUUUUGE glob of the goop on my belly. I did not know they use THAT much! haha. Then she put that magic little want on my belly & I was totally expecting it to be like around my belly button... but instead it was in my lower abdomen. I learned that your uterus starts out lower, then when the baby gets bigger, it will move upwards (: learn something new everyday! (: (especially when you're pregnant! haha) So after she started, she had us look at the big tv screen on the wall in front of us & waited for her to find the little bean. She found the baby pretty quick! And ohh my gosh, is that little thing active! S/he was doing flips the entire time! It totally reminded me of a hampster running on a wheel, but going so fast that it just goes in circles with the wheel! hahahah. & it's kind of funny that the picture of it kind of actually looks like a hampster too! haha. But it was so amazing to see the little thing! S/he is only about 3.5 CM right now, but you can already see it's little arms & legs sprouting, and it's head & bum! (: We were also able to SEE the heart beating! That was really cool! After the ultra sound was done, I got all of that goop off of my belly & talked to the tech for a minute.
From the measurements, they said that my doctor might want to move my due date up a week, but possibly stay right at November 13th. I'm hoping for the 13th, but we'll see what he says at my next appointment! (:
I'm glad I got to have an ultra sound this early on, even though they usually don't do them until later in the pregnancy. Definitely exciting to have a picture to look at everyday!
We actually hung it up on the wall in my room, next to a boy onesie & a girl onesie that we bought (:

First Appointment!

So we had our first appointment today!!!
Lisa is the one that does the first appointments, so she was the only one that I saw today. I got to do all of that super fun first appointment stuff and then we got to hear our baby's heartbeat! (: It took her a minute to find it, which kind of bummed me out cause I was so looking forward to it. But she just kept searching & finally found it! And it was the most amazing sound that I have ever heard in my life! Sooo weird that I heard someone else's heart beating inside my body, though! I actually started tearing up when I first heard it! We even recorded it on our cell phones so that we can listen to it whenever we want (: It was around 190 today, so now Ryan thinks that we are having a boy because we have heard that if it's over 140, or something like that, this early in the pregnancy, that means it's a boy! Definitely not getting our minds set on that just yet, though! Just a fun old wives tale ;)

She also says that everything is looking really good as of now! But since I got pregnant while taking birth control, the due date can be kind of off. So she ordered an ultra sound to get the baby's measurements so that we can get a for sure due date. I can't wait! I know that baby isn't very big right now & probably looks realllly weird... but it will be so fun to see it! Hopefully we can get some pictures!

The decision has been made!

Yes, I have chosen the OB that I will be seeing throughout my pregnancy & will be delivering our baby! His name is Dr. Lunt & I have heard soooo many wonderful things about him! I have a few good friends that went to him during their pregnancy's. He also has a nurse practitioner named Lisa, that helps him out a lot. Everyone says that she is really nice, too! I got really lucky, cause it's pretty rare that they take new patients. I have my first appointment on April 17th, and I can not wait! I am so excited to meet them & hopefully get to hear the baby's heartbeat. I'll only be about 9 weeks by then, and usually you can't hear it until at least 10. But I've got my fingers crossed they'll be able to find it!!! (:

Still feeling about the same in my last post... I'm SO glad that I haven't gotten any 'morning sickness' I really hope it stays like that & the remainder of my first trimester is smoooth sailing! (:

Officially Announcing. . .

That Ryan & I are expecting our first baby!!!

{one positive wasn't convincing enough for me.. so I had to take both. Within like 20 minutes! haha}

We found out last Wednesday, March 26th & we are SO excited! I am about 7 1/2 weeks along right now, which would put my due date around November 13th, but that could change. My mom took me to Dr. Chamberlain's office last Friday for an 'official' pregnancy test & to also see if they could tell how far along I am for sure. But when they went to take my blood, I got realllly light headed and passed out right when they stuck the needle in my arm, so unfortunately they weren't able to get any blood. The nurse told us that it's pretty common for that to happen in early pregnancy. So far, I haven't been feeling sick, or anything. I do get nauseous from time to time, but mainly I'm just a lot more tired than usual, I get dizzy almost every time I have to stand up, & I am going pee every half hour! haha (okay, not exactly THAT much... but pretty close ;) The Dr. also gave me some samples of prenatal vitamins to try, so that I can decide on which one I want to take throughout my pregnancy. Luckily, the first one I took has actually made me feel better & have more energy. I was told that more times then not, prenatal vitamins will actually make you feel worse. A lot of women can't handle them, so they stop taking them. So I'm glad this one is working out for me. I still have to choose which doctor I will be seeing throughout my pregnancy & who will also be delivering the baby when it's born. I would really like one that can do both, so that I can get to know them & be comfortable before letting them deliver my child. I've had a few recommendations, but still haven't made a for sure choice yet. (:

It hasn't really hit me yet that I am going to be a mommy in less that 33 weeks! It's so weird to think! haha. I think that maybe when I get to hear the heartbeat/feel it move/see it on the ultra sound for the first time it will seem a little bit more real for me. But as of now, I don't even feel like I'm pregnant. Well, you know... aside from the few symptoms I listed above! (: I have to keep convincing myself that I am indeed pregnant and it's not just a dream! haha. I can't wait to go through this whole pregnancy thing! But all the fun stuff seems sooooo far away! I am already so anxious to find out if this baby will be a boy or a girl. I really don't have a preference, just as long as it's healthy! But Ryan reallllly wants a boy (of course, haha!) He actually thinks that it's going to be a girl since he wants a boy so bad. Most of the people we have told so far also think that it's going to be a girl. I think Ryan's family are the only ones that have said boy so far! haha. I'm fine with either one, I just can't wait to go shopping! (: haha.

Although this pregnancy was very unexpected, it truly is the best surprise ever! We are both so excited to be parents! I'm really scared about a bunch of things, which I know is normal, but I am way more excited! It's gonna be really weird for me to have a big 'ol belly, cause I'm totally not used to that... but it will be an amazing experience and I am looking forward to every minute of it! (:
