25 weeks!

Getting big! (:
I've been feeling pretty good lately! Aside from all the other things that have been going on (shortness of breath, dizziness, ect) but I'm just getting used to them now, so they're not a big deal anymore. I have been getting round ligament pains every once in a while & braxton hicks contractions, which are both pretty annoying, but tolerable!

Circus!

The Jordan World Circus came to town yesterday (for just one day - boo!) & Brans and I got to go with some of our family that came down for it! I was a little worried about how great it would turn out, since it seemed like kind of a smaller circus & it was in such a small area, but it was actually SO much fun! They had a great variety of acts & they were all SO amazing, it takes a lot of talent & practice to do what they do! And I have to admit, there were a few that just about gave me a heart attack! haha. I think that my top 3 favorites were the elephants, the bear & the dirtbikes in the cage! Although, it's hard to choose favorites! I just love the cute little (well, BIG!) animals! It's amazing how they remember their routines & do so well! I think I just really liked the dirtbikes, cause it was INSANE to see 4 of them in a gigantic ball, going suuuuper fast alll around each other & not running into one another. It was just way cool, but definitely one of the acts that about gave me a heart attack! haha. Brans really enjoyed everything, too! His eyes were glued the whole time! I think he liked the dirt bikes & elephants best (: He even got to go up & see the bears & elephants at intermission! If it wasn't $10 for a ride, I totally would of let him ride the elephant, too! He wanted to so bad, but $10 to go in 3 small circles, lasting a total of 2 minutes? Um... pass. Sorry buddy, next time! (: He also tried cotton candy for the first time... he didn't know what to think at first! haha. Actually, I still don't know if he liked it or not! Either way, he won't be getting anymore for a very long time, haha! I can't wait to take him to another circus! I'm hoping to be able to go to the Barnum & Bailey's one up north in September. I went to that when I was about 10 or 11 & it was super cool! (:
These pictures aren't the best, since it was dark in there & my camera sucks, but here's a few!

24 week appointment!

I had my 24 week prenatal appointment with Dr. Lunt today. It went well, just did the usual - listened to her heartbeat & measured my uterus. Her heart sounded great & my uterus is measuring right on. (: I also had a few things to discuss with him. I have been getting this reallly weird feeling in my heart, kind of like it would beat really hard once, then go back to normal for a while, then do it again. Dr. Lunt told me that it is normal, unless I was having dizziness & shortness of breath as well. Well, surprise surprise - that’s another thing I had to discuss with him. He said that it could be something to do with my blood pressure, and even though I had my bp checked in the office right before I met with Dr. Lunt, he wanted to check everything again & listen to my heart & lungs. Everything looked & sounded completely normal, so he figured it was probably just bp changes that are normal during pregnancy, but nothing to be concerned about. We also talked about my induction a little. He wanted to make sure I am still okay with going forward with it, and since it’s only a week early & she has always measured right on, I am still planning on being induced at 39 weeks. As we have discussed before, there is no way to know for sure if delivering her a week earlier will prevent the shoulder dystocia, but I would really like to avoid a c-section, unless it is absolutely necessary for baby’s safety. I asked (just out of curiosity) when we would schedule my induction, & he said that hospital policy is that inductions can not be scheduled until at least 37 weeks. (dang it! Haha) My follow up ultra sound was supposed to be this Monday, but Dr. Lunt decided that he would like to wait a little bit longer to give her some more time to grow, so we got that scheduled for February 7th, when I will be 26 weeks 4 days. They gave me the form to get my blood glucose test done - ICK. So not excited for that. I believe they are also (finally) going to check my iron, as well. They would just like me to have that done before my next appointment with him, which will be February 16. This will also be my last time going 4 weeks between appointments… after the next one, I will start going every 2 weeks! So exciting! (:

1 week update

So Brans has been on this new medication for a week now. He does seem to be doing better so far! He has only thrown up twice this week, when usually it's anywhere from 4-8 times a week! So that is definitely an improvement! (: We only started him out with a half dose for the first 5 days to get his body used to it, but we switched to the full dose on Sunday night. It definitely has NOT been making him drowsy, and I haven't really seen a change in his appetite, so I guess those 'side effects' are going to affect him! Anyways, I'm glad this is working & I hope that it continues to do so, and also that his weight will go back up! He will see the specialist in 2 more weeks!

Roos-N-More Zoo!

My friend invited me & Brans to go with her & her family to this zoo in Moapa that they had just heard of, called Roos-N-More. I had never heard of it before, I didn't even know there was a zoo so close to us! So of course, I said that we would love to go! I am always up for taking Brans to zoo's, aquariums, farms, ect. He loves animals. This zoo isn't your typical zoo, though. I was expecting animals locked up in exhibits that you just look at. This one, you actually get to interact with the animals! They don't have as many animals as you would normally see at a zoo, but I didn't mind! It was so much fun getting to interact with & hold the animals! They had a monkeys, kangaroos, a 'bear cat', a camel, a 'zonkey'(mix between a zebra & a donkey), pigs, HUGE turtles, a toucan, goats, baby otters, a gigantic snake, armadillo's & some more that I can't remember! My favorite was definitely the 2 monkeys they had out. Not only were they cute, but they were SO funny! One kept jumping on Bransyn's stroller, trying to find snacks/treats. She even tried drinking out of his cup! She had a blast jumping up & down on the hood of the stroller like a trampoline (: She even jumped on my head a few times! That was my first time EVER holding a monkey! Brans got to feed them blueberry's & fruit snacks. He even stole a few for himself ;) One of the monkey's jumped on a guy's head & he was drinking diet pepsi out of a water bottle type thingy. She sat there forever, sooo determined to get that soda out so she could drink it! It was absolutely hilarious! All of the animals were super cute & entertaining, but I just love monkeys! I would totally keep one as a pet if I could! (:
Anyways, I HIGHLY recommend visiting this zoo! They have open zoo days every so often (like once a week, or so) or you can book a private tour, but if you do that you would need to get a TON of people to go, cause it's pretty pricey! On zoo days, it's only $10 per person (not for the littles, though!) which is SO worth it in my book! It was such a fun & amazing experience, I am already trying to figure out when we can go back! haha. Here are a few pictures, but they're nothing compared to the real experience, so go for a visit! I promise you won't regret it (:

23 weeks 4 days!

Here is my belly comparison for 23 weeks! (:
I still can't tell which one is bigger, but they are definitely different shapes! Brans looked more 'pointy' haha.

Anyways, I have been sick for the past like... I don't even know. MONTH, probably. & there really is nothing worse than being sick & pregnant at the same time! Luckily, it's not the flu - I'm only HALF regretting getting talked into getting the flu shot now, because I know I would be 10X more miserable if I DID get it. But this cold crap is just not nice! First it was my throat, nose & just feeling all around yucky. That lasted a while, then cleared up for like a day & now guess what? I have a KILLER cough. It is just horrible! I can not wait for this bug to just leave me alone!
I've also been having shortness of breath. Oh joy. I swear pregnancy has the most random symptoms ever! & they are definitely not fun! Along with that, I get dizzy a lottt. I am gonna talk to my Dr. about that at my next appointment. I'm scared it might have something to do with my weird heartbeats? I know both of those are normal pregnancy symptoms, but I just wanna make sure it's not anything to worry about.

Bransyn's appt with the specialist.

Today Bransyn had his appointment with the pediatric tummy specialist to figure out his ‘pukey issues’. After lots of questions & discussing things, Dr. Kaddu diagnosed Brans with something called ‘Cyclic Vomiting Syndrome’ which is basically, unexplained random vomiting. It can come or go at any time & last pretty much forever. It’s nothing that will hurt him, it’s just something that is not exactly fun to deal with. This is something that is kind of hard to diagnose, because like migraines, there is no testing that can be done to 100% confirm it. The reason for this diagnosis though, is because he didn’t have the right signs & symptoms of all the other possibilities (food allergy’s, illness, ect). He prescribed a medication, that if this IS what is going on with Brans, it will significantly help with the vomiting. There are 2 side effects : 1- It’s kind of like benadryl, so it will most likely make him drowsy. Which will actually be good for him, because he usually has trouble falling asleep at night. 2- It increases appetite, which will also be good for him because he is on the small side. He will have a follow up appointment on February 1st to discus s whether this medication is working or not. If this does NOT work, he will have to have some testing done to see if anything is going on in his tummy. I am REALLY hoping that this helps, because it is effecting his weight big time. He weighed 25 pounds at his 24 month appointment & he is now down to 23 pounds. A 2 year old losing 2 pounds in less than 2 months is NOT good. But since he is throwing half of what he eats & drinks up, it’s not helping him gain any weight. So I guess we will try this out for a few weeks & see how he does!

Happy New Year! (:

For New Years Eve this year, we decided to go to 'First Night' for a little bit, just to see if it was any good. Well, first of all... it was FREEZING. I literally couldn't feel my ears after like 2 minutes. I'm glad Brans was alll nice, warm & snuggly in his stroller! Second, it was LAME. There was not near as much as there usually is there, we only saw ONE food vendor, when there's usually quite a few. And one booth that was taking pictures, then of course the stage. That's it. So we decided nothing there was worth standing in the cold for! We had plans to go over to Bryce's apartment to hang out for the night, but this preggo was hungry! haha. So at 9pm, we were driving alll around to find somewhere to get some food. NO WHERE was open. No joke. Not even McDonalds - which I NEVER eat, yuck, but I was soo hungry & desperate that I would of found something there! ha. Denny's was open, of course, but we weren't looking for a sit-down place. FINALLY, we saw that Dairy Queen was open, so we went there, then headed over to Bryce's! It was just him, Amanda & his friend over there, but they were playing 'DJ hero' on the X-box & just kind of hanging out. Ryan's cousin, his girlfriend & her friend came over a little bit later & we all just hung out the rest of the night, until we went home! (:

Last preggo picture of the year! (:
