Bransyn's EGD & Biopsy Day.

 Bransyn had his EGD (esophagogastroduodenoscopy) + Biopsy done today. I was extremely nervous for this, because my child was getting sedated for the first time, AND I was leaving him in the hands of complete strangers. (well, except for Dr. Kaddu isn't a COMPLETE stranger...) 

When we got there, they took us to a room to wait and get B ready for the procedure. They gave him a coloring book, and a gown to get changed into. He enjoyed coloring for a while :)

After waiting for a while, one of the nurses came in to take his temp & vitals. He did great with that! Just sat there & let her do them without even fighting or freaking out! 

He got to pick a prize after for being so good :)  He chose a 'sticky hand'

About 30 minutes before they were ready for him, they came into give him some tylenol mixed with some kind of medicine (forgot what it's called!) to help relax him, so that he wouldn't freak out when they took him, and also to help him not remember what was going on so that he wouldn't be traumatized for life. 

Then they took my baby :(

After they took him, they gave him 'gas' to fall asleep. Then they did the IV while he was out. We waiting in the waiting room for a while. Ryan went over to the main hospital & got us some breakfast, and shortly after he came back, Dr. Kaddu came out and explained to us that he was VERY glad that we went ahead and did this, because there is definitely a problem. Hmm, funny since he 'just KNEW' that he had the Cyclic Vomiting Syndrome, and wouldn't believe me when I said I felt like that wasn't it. Ugh, I really dislike how doctors like to be know it alls and not even look into anything before they are so quick to guess the diagnosis and prescribe medicine to shove down their patients throats. Grr, but that's a rant for another day... ;)  So anyways, he said that his esophagus looks pretty inflamed, and there was a lot of acid in his stomach. There are 3 possible things that it could be, but we won't know for sure until the biopsy results come back. He gave us pictures of the procedure, which are... just lovely, ha. I always wanted to see what my kid's insides looked like ;)  and a video of it. Don't think I'll be watching that, but he might want to when he's older! After Dr. Kaddu was done talking to us, he said that B was in recovery and they were just waiting for him to wake up, then they would let us go back to him.

After he woke up, they came and got us to go back to a room, and he wasn't there yet. They brought him in a few minutes later, and I thought he was still sleeping, but he was just laying there, super calm. I was VERY  surprised, because before they took him, they told us to be prepared, because most kids wake up VERY angry, and whiney, because the stuff that they give them makes them feel really weird and out of it. I really thought my kid was gonna be going crazy, but to my surprise he was super calm.We let him lay there for a little while, to kind of wake up more, and have a chance to relax and let the medicine wear off a bit before we got him dressed.

He was a little bit fussy when we took him out of the bed to get him dressed, and he didn't want to, so I just held him in the chair with me for a minute. When he was finally up for it, he got dressed, and he got discharged.

He was fine after that. A little sleepy, but he was acting pretty normal & didn't seem to be in pain, or mad. I took him to Starbucks to get a drink for being such a good boy. He got a strawberry frappuccino. 

I am so very proud of my little man, he did so amazing and that definitely made it a lot easier on mommy! I really, really hope that we can get all of this figured out, so that we can get this poor boy all better, so he doesn't have to deal with this stuff anymore. I have felt so horrible for him for the past 10 months, but really didn't know what to do other than listen to the doctor (have I mentioned how much I dislike doctors? :)  Anyways, glad this part is over with & I can't wait to get him into the office when the biopsy comes back, so we can finally have some for sure answers! 

Escape Artist.

 Tais has learned a new trick: climbing out of her bouncer. 

Looks like I have another little escape artist on my hands. And I officially have to make sure she is ALWAYS buckled in that thing! haha

Tummy Sleeper

I went in to check on Taislee during her nap, and found her like this:

She is officially a tummy sleeper! This FREAKS me out! I get scared she's going to lay face down & not be able to breathe. I usually roll her back onto her back when she is in a deep sleep, but she just rolls back to her tummy! haha, guess it's comfy :)

X-ray results.

Bransyn had his x-ray done on September 19th. He did okay with it, once he was actually willing to let them do it. He was really scared at first, and wouldn't even put the gown on. I finally convinced him to do change into it. Then when they told him to drink the stuff they needed him to drink for the x-ray, he refused to. They ended up having to put a bunch in a huge syringe, and kind of forcing him to take it {because the x-ray couldn't be done without it} and he just held it in his mouth, he wouldn't swallow it. So that made it kind of difficult, but after a LOT of begging, he finally swallowed it and cooperated.

I got a call with the results today, and they said everything looks normal. The next step, will be doing the EGD & biopsy. They will call me to get that scheduled as soon as they can. So, more waiting for now! But we're pretty used to that by now, ha!

This is what happens almost every time we leave the house...

B's 3rd Dentist Appointment.

Brans had his third dentist appointment today. I was a little bit worried about how he would do, because the previous two times he has gone, his aunt Nikki was the one that cleaned his teeth, but since then, she has transferred to their new Children's Dental location in Cedar City so she wasn't able to do it this time. He did surprisingly well, the dentist was the one to clean his teeth this time, and he did it pretty fast, and was so nice to Bransyn the whole time. He told him everything he was doing, and kept telling B how good he was doing. Brans just laid there the whole time and let the dentist do what he needed to do.

He has ZERO cavities!!! Wooohoo (: And the dentist said his teeth look great. B got to choose out a book, got a balloon, a new toothbrush, and got a certificate for a free meal at Red Robin! (:

Rice!

I finally caved and gave Taislee some rice cereal. I really wanted to wait until 5 months at the earliest, but she has been showing a HUGE interest in food lately, so we gave it a shot.

She really wasn't a huge fan! haha. She was much more into eating her hands & the bib, than the rice! I tried again the night after this, and she wouldn't eat it! So now she will go back to being exclusively breastfed, until she is a little bit more ready :)

Rodeo 2011!

 We went to the rodeo again this year, and B-man loved it even more than last year! We went with Ryan's parents, his sister and her husband. We love being able to do stuff as a little family, and it's even better when doing stuff with the WHOLE family! :)  It was Taislee's first rodeo, and she wasn't really impressed, haha! She started to get fussy about half way through, because it was way past her bedtime! 

Bransyn Kieler Tabet S

Brans has been wanting to wear his 'Taislee's Big Brother' shirt a lot lately. One day I asked him, 'Do you know what your shirt says? It says you're Taislee's big brother!' and he says to me, 'Nooo, it says Bransyn Kieler Tabet S!'

Yeahhhh, no clue where that S came from! hahhaha

4 month well check!

Tais had her 4 month appointment today, and she did great!

Her stats are:

Weight: 13lbs -26th percentile

Length: 24in - 51st percentile

Head Circumference: 15 3/4in - 32nd percentile

Dr. Hubbard said she has gone down a bit in percentile, but it could just be due to genetics, and not because she's not growing right. Which I'm pretty positive it IS because of genetics, because Bransyn was the SAME way, and I was also a small baby/kid. And, because she is very healthy other wise, and she always gets plenty to eat. (:

He said that we can start her on rice cereal any time now, but we have decided to hold off on that for just a little bit longer. She is doing great with breastfeeding, and always acts full after she eats. Also, we started Bransyn on rice cereal as soon as he turned 4 months, and he was just NOT ready for it, at all. I felt like he was a bit too young for it still, although I felt like I was *supposed* to feed it to him right at the 4 month park. I feel as if Tais is just not ready for it quite yet, either. We will maybe try in a few weeks, or wait until 5 months or so. It all just depends on when she's ready! (:

She got her vaccinations today as well. She got the oral one first, and she kind of spit a little bit of that out, she wasn't a huge fan of it, but she did swallow enough. She did awesome with the shots, only cried for a few seconds, which I am VERY happy about! It just kills me when my babies cry over shots. I love that they both seem to do very well with them (:

Everything is going great with our sweet little baby, she is just healthy as can be!

One year ago today...

We found out that the most precious little baby girl was growing in my tummy, and about to make our family a little bit bigger.

I remember waking up that morning, not really thinking that I was going to see those two amazing lines. But to my surprise, I did. And I instantly had an overwhelming feeling of excitement. But it also didn't seem like it could be real. But oh, it was very very real! I can still remember how the butterflies in my stomach felt, and the smile I wore permanently across my face for the rest of that day. I was so excited, and just wanted to tell the whole world that our second blessing was on it's way. Ryan wasn't home, and didn't know that I was going to be testing that morning. I could not wait to tell him! I was trying to decide if this was something I should tell him over the phone, and then I realized that I wanted to see his face when he found out, so I ruled that out. I contemplated driving to his work to tell him, but decided against that, as well, because I wanted us to be able to spend time as a family after, not have him go right back to work, and have Brans & I leave. So, I decided to just wait until he got home. EIGHT hours. I didn't know how I was going to do it, but somehow I did. I kept myself as busy as I possibly could! I went to my OB's office to pay a bill, and let them know that I needed to reschedule an appointment that I had that month, because I had just found out I was pregnant. When we were done there, we went over to Target to get some prenatal vitamins. I was SURE I would run into someone I knew while I was there, and they would see the only thing in my basket was vitamins for a pregnant woman, and put two and two together. But luckily, I did not. Brans and I spent the rest of the day at home, constantly watching the time, waiting not so patiently for 6:30 to come, so Ryan would walk through the door and we could tell him. It was a pretty torturous day, but FINALLY, we heard Ryan pull into the garage, and got ready. I handed Bransyn the pregnancy test {after I had sanitized it, of course! haha}, turned my camera onto video mode so that I could record his reaction, and as soon as Ryan walked through the garage door, I told Bransyn to go give the test to daddy. When Ry looked at it, he got excited and he too, had a huge smile across his face! We talked about it for a bit, and how excited we both were, and then we decided to go celebrate. We went to Olive Garden that night, as a family of three, that could not wait to make our family a party of four!

I love remembering the days that I found out I was pregnant with my babies. Those were two of the most exciting moments of my life. There really is nothing better than finding out you have created a little person. Well, other than actually MEETING that little person. ;)

I feel completely blessed that these little ones have chosen me to be their mama, and I get spend my life with them! ♥
