Quick Denver Trip

Two weekends ago, Ryan was doing a favor for his old boss, which was go drive allll the way to Denver to pick up this thing:

If you haven't figured out what it is yet, it's an engine. I guess it's like super crazy and totally Bad A. But what do I care, haha.

So anyways. He was gonna be leaving St. George after work on Friday, driving alll the way to Denver, Co. that night, picking up this engine the next day (and also dropping some other truck part off) then driving straight back. About 600 miles each way.

Sooo, being the nice girlfriend that I am, I went with him. I get really nervous when he drives that far so late at night by himself. We didn't even leave town until about 5:45 pm. . . I was NOT looking forward to the 9+ hour drive.

About 4 hours into the trip, I looked up at the outside temp & this is what I saw:

Then we had to stop to fuel up & go to the bathroom. I was NOT excited to get out in that freeeeezing cold!

But of course, we had to get a picture freezing our butts off on our trip ;)

& then another one in the nice warm truck ;)

A few miles down the road, I looked at the temp again:

It actually got all the way down to -3 ! SO glad I don't live in those horrible temperatures & I feel bad for everyone that does! haha I've never been somewhere when it was that cold before!

So we finally got to where we needed to be in Denver at about 3:45 AM. GOOOD thing Ryan was smart & printed out a map of where we were going, cause the GPS decided to tell us to go on a road that didn't even exist. . . for about 2 hours! haha.

We were both so tired, we fell right to sleep. . . even though we were sleeping in the truck. Yeah, not my idea of fun. haha.

Since we were going right back home the next day. . . we had to get up at like 9 to get that stupid engine & be on our way. I hate not getting enough sleep, haha!

So we got all of that done & got on our way home!
It was nice to see everything in daylight, Colorado is SO prettty! I have never been there during the winter before. For a split second, I actually wanted to move there! haha.

See what I mean? (:

It was also really cool, because instead of roads going OVER the mountains, there are tunnels that go THROUGH the mountains! This one was sooo long!

And as soon as we got back into Utah, this is the only thing we saw for about 200 miles :

Seriously. No buildings or houses. Nothing. Just lottts of land & snow!

It was kinda fun to get away for a minute, but I wish we didn't have to turn around right away. BUT, I also missed my baby like CRAZY & could not wait to get back to him!
Ryan's parent's watched him, cause that would of been pure torture to make him sit in a car seat for 1200 miles. It was really hard, cause this was the very first time we have ever had someone watch him over night!
We got back to St. George at about 10 PM, but had to stop at the store to get some milk cause B was out.
Never go to Walmart 6 days before Christmas after driving for 2 days & you just want to get home. It seriously took us half an hour to check out with TWO things!

Then we FINALLY got to Ryan's house at about 11:30, & my baby was already asleep :(

I think we're done with the last-minute-600-mile-turn-around-and-come-home trips for a while, haha. I think I've had my fair share between this one, & our trip to New Mexico back in July!

Bransyn's big boo-boo

Yesterday, Bransyn got a boo-boo on his head :(

Here's the story:
It was while I was babysitting, & I was making Lilly a bottle. Well, he wanted it so he was throwing a fit. I kept telling him 'No-no. This is Lilly's baba, not for you!' And he just kept getting angrier. After a minute, he went over & stood on the stairs pulling on the gate, trying to get up. (Their gate is up 2 stairs, because 1 side of the wall ends before the bottom of the staircase.. so they had to do it up a little higher. The babes ALWAYS hang out there, haha.) He must of lost his balance or something when he was trying to climb up the gate & fell down. Well, since those stairs are accessible, the baseboards lining them are exposed as well. & since it's on a corner there's a sharp edge on the baseboards. When he fell off the stairs, he hit his eyebrow on the sharp edge. I ran to him when he fell & when I picked him up there was blood just dripppping from his face. I think I started running to the bathroom & freaking out before I could even see where the blood was coming from. I was soo scared that he had gotten his eyeball, so I was a little relieved when I saw that it was just a little cut on his eyebrow. He did scream for a second because of the pain, but as soon as I started cleaning it up, he was just so annoyed of me touching it that that's what was making him mad & cry. He was fine after a few minutes, but all I wanted to do was cuddle him & he didn't want anything to do with me :( That realllly broke my heart! Babies are supposed to want their mommy's when they get hurt!!!
So anyways, it didn't look bad enough to go get checked out so I just kept it clean & made sure he kept acting normal. Ryan of course took one look at it & freaked out saying that he was gonna have a scar for life from it.

Lets hope not!!!
I think in a couple weeks or months you shouldn't even be able to tell. He's doing great now, though!

Here's the result of throwing a temper tantrum over a bottle:

Christmas 2009!

Our Christmas was really good! We started out the day at my house, so that we could open presents in the morning. We got up at about 9, & I let Ash & Amanda know that we were ready & to head over. When they got here, my mom started making some breakfast & we got the boys ready to open presents. And let me just say, we have some spoiled little children! haha.
Bransyn definitely made out pretty dang good this year!
From us he got: a golf set, (which he won't be using til the summer, when he can go out & hit balls with daddy) busy poppin pals, magnetic numbers & letters, talking 'Cars' book, talking potty training Elmo book, a few board books, a doodler, onesies, fingerpaints, color wonder markers & paper, bath bubble maker, some blankets, bath letters, bath book, pajama's, a few shirts. From Santa: laugh & learn learning farm, barn puzzle, mega blocks & a book. In his stocking from Santa: Cars Movie, sippy cup, spoons, goldfish, socks, toothbrush. From his grammy: mini dump truck, dog that you pull on a string, shoes, stacking cups, pajama's, a few outfits, blanket. From his Grandpa: Go! Diego, Go! Play set & an animal noise thingy. From his Tabet Grandparents: a POTTTY! mega blocks, Cars chair, talking Winnie the Pooh book, & they got him his '2nd Christmas' ornament. From Ash & Riley: Mega Blocks dump truck.
Between him & everything Camden got, our toy room is PACKED!
Me & Ryan also got pretty spoiled! He got some shirts, shoes, magazines, some work pants, socks, a couple movies & some stuff for his truck (which he bought after Christmas) and some random things in his stocking from me. My mom got him this 'pull up' thing, that hooks onto doorways to do pull ups & some golf balls. I got a bunch of new shirts & jeans, some boots, a purse, a movie & a few random stocking stuffers between Ryan, my mom & ash and riley. I actually ended up getting 23 shirts total, yes I said twenty-three. And yes, that makes me VERY happy! haha. (this was between my mom, ry, my dad, ry's parents & my grandpa.) We got my mom a shirt & this decorative candle thingy that goes on the wall, Ashlyn a shirt, Amanda a jacket & Camden a little doggy that you pull on a string & it makes noises!

Pretty much as soon as we got done opening presents, we had to head up to Ryan's house to do Christmas with his parents before his whole family got there for their Christmas party. His parents got him a few pairs of jeans, some shirts, hats & some work clothes. They got me some realllly comfy slippers, some lotions perfume & body sprays from Victoria's secret, and some shirts! We got them some movies & some snacks for 'movie nights'.

Shortly after we were finished with that, their family started showing up. Everyone just kinda visited for a while, while dinner was being prepared. We had a lot of the same stuff for that dinner as we did at my house, but it was all soooo good so I'm not complaining! I could eat Christmas dinner every night! ;) haha After dinner, everyone just played games & visited some more. It was really fun, but by about 8 or so, Bransyn was suuuuper tired (he hadn't had a single nap, cause we were so busy all day!) so me & him headed home! He didn't even wake up when I took him inside! I just kinda organized all of our stuff & got it all moved out of the living room, haha.

So this Christmas was definitely a great one! Even though last year was the best Christmas ever, because it was the first one we celebrated with Bransyn... this year was a close 2nd ;) Holidays really are SO much fun when you have kids to celebrate with! Can't wait for future holidays as he grows♥

I hope that everyone had a wonderful Christmas!

Oh, and I was originally going to post pictures with this... but blogger does not want to let me. I have tried about 4 times & it is just not happening :( Sooo, I have a bunch on facebook if you wanna look! (:

Christmas Eve!

We had a verrrry busy Christmas Eve! Ryan & I had some last minute shopping to finish up, so we went out into the crowds that I was dreading! Waiting in like at the checkout for 20+ minutes at walmart is not my idea of fun, although even THAT actually wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. But still not an ideal shopping environment! haha. So we DID end up getting everything done, just in time! Then we came back to my house so that I could start making dinner, since we would be having Christmas Eve Dinner with my family & Christmas Day Dinner with Ryan's family. Everything actually turned out really good! (HA! to all the people that think I can't cook! ;) We had Ham, au gratin potatoes, rolls, sweet potato casserole, jello salad, broccoli salad, regular salad, corn, and some pies, which didn't get eaten that night, cause we were all so full! haha

The boys enjoying Christmas Eve Dinner!

After dinner, we did our 'tradition' of opening our Christmas Pajama's that we wear on Christmas morning!

Bransyn opening his jammies & blanket!

My pj's!

Ry opening his & not wanting me to take his picture! haha.

Cammer-Cam!

haha, he was dancing to that little reindeer (it sings 'Grandma Got Ran Over By A Reindeer')

After we were finished with everything at home, me, Ry, B, Ash, Riley, Manda, Bryce & Cam all headed over to Kendra's house to do Christmas with my dad.

Camden opening his gifts from his grandpa.

Bransyn opening one of his gifts.

Ash helping B openin his present.

hahah, Kendra has this 'footrest' type thing that the lid comes off of, I'm guessing for storage or something? But Bransyn took the lid off & climbed in there to play with his toy! (:

Annnnd, Mr. B trying to change the channel on the TV ;)

We had a great day & night. . . although VERY tired by the time we got home!

I hope all of you had a wonderful Christmas & year!

I'll post about our Christmas later, as well as a few other things that I've been meaning to post but I've been too busy! (:

Tuacahn Festival of Lights

On the 23rd, Ry, me & B went the 'Festival Of Lights' at Tuacahn to do something as a family. I thought it would be really fun for Bransyn to look at all the lights, cause he loooves them. But to our surprise... there wasn't really that many & you can hardly call it a 'festival' haha, but it was still fun to go do something!

These pictures are mostly out of order, sorry! haha.

Me & B gettin ready to go home cause we were freeeezing!

Tryin to warm up by the fire

Santa was there, so he was waiting to go see him! (:

Visiting Santa again!

He's so fascinated with all that white on his face, haha!

Loves lights(:

We got to go on a little 'train' ride around Tuacahn. That was pretty fun!

Sorry, it's really blurry. . . but this was our train!

Precious baby<3 style="font-style: italic;">that great, it was still really fun! I love love LOOOOVE getting out & doing things as a family(: Maybe next year we'll find a place with better lights.

13 months!

Mr. Bransyn Kieler is 13 months!
Oh man, I still can't believe he's getting so big. But he is at such a FUN age right now! It seems like he is doing something new daily. So crazy how fast they learn things!

*he is starting to 'talk' more. even though his words aren't always clear or it doesn't sound right, we still consider him saying the word, because he uses it correctly. example: he is OBSESSED with the vacuum & calls it 'dahtoo'. but, he only says that when he see's the vacuum, or is playing with it. and never uses that word for anything else.

*he still loves dogs. he calls them 'daw' haha. he also loves cats now! he calls them 'at' or makes a hissing sound when someone says cat. (he does that because our cat is not very nice & hisses at the babies when they bug her, so now he's picked up on that! haha)

*him & Ryan's sisters dog play like they're best friends! haha, it really is the cutest thing ever! he will take her little ball/rope toy to her, & they will play 'tug o war' Good thing she's just a little dog ;)

*if you ask him where something is, he will point to it. trees, (outside, inside & even christmas trees!) lights, doors, a person, (if he knows their name) ect. there's a ton more, but those are just a few examples. sometimes i don't even know where he learned some of them! haha.

*he is the silliest boy EVER! he constantly has us laughing at the crazy things he's doing!

*he loves to steal everyones shoes/slippers & walk around in them. he gets super angry when he trips over them, or they fall off. he will SCREAM at them! hahah

*he's getting reallly good at using spoons & forks! he loves using them.

*he's getting the hang of his shape sorters. he mostly plays with the lid on one of them. . . he'll take it off, then try to put it back on correctly. then he gets mad if it doesn't go on right & screams at that as well! haha. but he's figuring out how to get some of the shapes in the correct places.

*he has been refusing to give kisses lately. which mommy doesn't like very much :( he IS starting to give eskimo kisses, though! Ryan's sister taught him how to do them. sooo cute!

*he has a letter b hanging above his crib in his room, & every night before he goes to sleep, i ask him 'where's your b?' & he'll say 'bee?!' then point to it! (; I also have a collage type frame of pictures of me & ryan when i was pregnant, and he will point to it & say 'dada!' so now when i ask him where his b is, i'll also ask him where mama & dada is & he'll point to that as well (:

*he dances! and i love me some baby booty shake, hahah! He usually just moves his upper body from side to side, but will occasionally do the bend at the knee & bounce up & down thing. but he always does one of those when he hears music, & never just randomly. it doesn't matter if we're listening to music, or it's some sort of music on the tv.

*he loves to go into rooms & shut the door behind him, then when he hears me asking him where he is, he will just bust up laughing! he thinks he is so funny ;)

*he can tell me where his belly, ears, nose & mouth is. he can also tell me where all of those are on me, as well. oh, and the 'ball' in my belly button! haha (belly ring)

*he LOVES bananas! i'm pretty sure they are his favorite food of alll time! he calls them 'buh, buh' ! & when I ask him if he wants one, he knows EXACTLY what I am talking about & starts to laugh & get all excited! its so funny.

*he does 'cheers' with his cup. his grandpa taught him that, haha.

*when i get socks out to put on him, he automatically lifts his feet up for me. he does the same for shoes.

*he knows what a remote does & likes to point them at the tv when he gets his hands on them, haha. he even does it with the wii remotes!

this little boy amazes me everyday & i constantly feel soo blessed to have him! i couldn't of asked for a better child!
well, it'd be nice if he would sleep a little longer ;) but I can deal with that, hahah!

Santa!

We took the boys to see Santa a while ago & surprisingly, they BOTH did really well! I kinda knew Bransyn wouldn't freak out... but I thought Camden would have a cow! They both just stared at him, really! haha. I have to admit, I was a littttle sad that we didn't get a 'typical' Santa picture. . . you know, screaming & trying to throw them self off of his lap?!
Kind of like a few of these:

Maybe next year. . . ;)

And then there was one. . .

Bransyn is now down to only one bottle a day.
YES!
He still 'needs' one when he first wakes up in the morning.
He refuses to go back to sleep unless he gets it.
Which wouldn't be a big deal. . . but ya know, 5:30 am isn't the best time for us to wake up for the day.
It is whole milk that he gets in it, instead of formula though.
I cut out the formula a few days before his birthday.
He gets water & the rest of his daily milk from his sippy throughout the day.
I hope to have him completely off the bottle by 15 months, but hopefully sooner!

Kinda funny that he is so addicted to bottles now, since he completely refused them for seven months! haha

Meeting Great Grandpa

Last Sunday, Ryan, Bransyn & I went out to Vegas with Ryan's parents.
Ryan's Grandpa Tabet (from his dad's side) had not been doing so well & was in a care center there.
Well Bransyn has never met his great-grandpa, so we wanted to get him out there ASAP so that he had a chance to meet him.
(We were supposed to go the previous Sunday, but only had a days notice & Ryan was on call for work & couldn't go that far without notifying them a few days in advance, so we had to wait another week)
So we got there & Ry's Grandpa was very surprised that we had brought his great-grandson to see him! He was very excited!
Bransyn was a little bit shy at first (as he has been lately, especially around boys that he doesn't know, weird.) But after a little while, he warmed right up to him & was acting as if he's known him his whole life.
Great Grandpa thought Bransyn's shoes were sooo cool & just kept talking about them.
Bransyn kept trying to pull his oxygen tubes out, haha.
They spent some time together & I am very glad we made it out there that day & they got to meet each other!

Unfortunately, He passed away last night at 86 years old.
I know this visit meant a lot to Rick (Ryan's dad) & it was important that his grandson got to meet his dad.
It meant a lot to Ryan & I as well.
We got some great pictures of them together, that we can show Bransyn when he gets older.

I think this picture is so sweet of them looking at each other ♥

RIP Great Grandpa Tabet

Another First!

Bransyn has started eating with a fork!!!

Awe, I'm so excited! & so is he.
He loves to play with them and the other night he kept refusing to eat, so I gave him a fork & showed him how to get food on it & put it into his mouth.
(I've tried this with him before, but no such luck)
But this time he thought it was so cool & kept trying to get the food onto the fork.
It took him a minute to be able to keep the food on the fork while getting it to his mouth, but after only a FEW tries, he had it down!
I still had to help put the food on the fork that night, but last night he was doing EVERYTHING completely by himself! YAY!
Such a big smart boy (:

Bransyn's First Haircut!

Bransyn got his very first haircut yesterday, December 2! His hair was getting crazy long & he was starting to look like he had a mullet. So, as much as I did not want to cut it, we had to.
Ryan's sister just went through hair school, so we had her do it.
We weren't sure how we wanted the front at first (cause there was a bunch of long & thin pieces that went over his hair line, which was short & thick) We finally decided to just cut it all even with his hairline so that it was even. We even pulled back the longer parts so that we could just see how the front would look if it was that short, & it looked like it would be cute.
Buttt, it turned out kind of funny lookin! haha, almost like he got a bowl-cut :(
But he's still the cutest! He just doesn't look like a baby anymore. . . he looks like a BIG boy!

Cutting the sides.

We had to give him a sucker to distract him so that he would hold still.

haha, only part of the back is cut here.

Annnnd, this is the front! hahahah. & yes, that is me laughing my butt off in the back at his bowl-cut look. I had to laugh, or else I would of cried! :(

We decided that since the front looked a little bit funny, we could just cut some on the top so that I could style it in a mowhawk again. I really wanted him to have that 'preppy boy' look for the winter, & save the 'hawk for the summer. But oh well, gotta do what you gotta do! (:

The back! No more party back there, all business. (orrr, maybe playdate?!) haha

He looks so cute with his hair done, though! (:
So crazy how just a haircut can make him look sooo much older.
